BBB: Bonus content - Fanart

Here is the post of the art I received for bandombigbang. The masterpost for my fic, Void & Null, can be found HERE. (spoilers for the fic after the cut)

I received the MOST AMAZING art from asmallbluedot!


asmallbluedot created FIVE pieces for me! I'll let everyone see what she said about her work then I'll comment. It will be long; I'll try to contain myself but make no promises.




asmallbluedot: "I envisioned the main piece as a cover from the beginning, but due to the way I started sketching, I realized I wouldn't reasonably be able to put all three boys on the same piece of paper, so I made three separate sketches / watercolors, and then composited them together - I like them all on their own as well!"

I agree! The first piece, the cover, completely blows my mind. Their FACES. They look so happy, which is important to remember about Void & Null. A lot of heavy things happen and Spencer is a bit of a mess, but they really are happy, especially at the end. Also, the CLOTHES are absolute PERFECTION. I was worried I hadn't given enough detail to the setting, but when asmallbluedot hit on the perfect clothing for them, I knew it worked! Also, the houses in the background are almost exactly how I pictured them, especially the fieldhouse in the bottom left corner. I want to plaster the cover all over the internet, seriously.



Bob's face here is perfect. He's serious, because he's Bob, but he actually looks content. Also, his eyes are the best color. I'm in awe! Plus, let's look at his clothes for a second. Bob's rocking the black, because that's how he rolls. Even when he can have basically ANYTHING he wants, he still sticks to black. I don't think I ever mentioned that in the fic, but it's so appropriate!



This is so perfectly Brendon. The smile, the way he's looking off to the side (which is at Spencer in the cover version), his jacket: everything is perfectly Brendon in this fic. Also, Brendon in waistcoat is something that somehow jumped out at me and was actually an image that was mentioned in the original notes for the fic (I don't think those were still attached when I sent it in for the artist/mixers). Plus, the colors are so Brendon!



Spencer is very obviously my favorite of all. His bow tie is precious! The way he looks happy but shy about it in this piece is exactly the way he is in Void & Null. Then you have his clothes (yes, I'm obsessed with the costuming), which are perfection! A bow tie and vest! Plus, just look at the shading on each piece! These are done in watercolor! I'm completely floored, honestly!



asmallbluedot: "The last quick sketch, of Brendon looking ridiculous in the suit of armor, was just one of the scenes that made me laugh and go "I need to see that!" as I read the story."

This right here was one of my very favorite scenes! I had really hoped someone would pick this part to do art for because it's absolutely ridiculous and the image in my head was adorable. The actual sketched version is even more adorable!

I love the texture here - the skin tones are luscious -and use of color is just awesome.

I love the way Spencer is looking down - even if he looks happy, he also looks a little unsure. Brendon seems exuberant - which fits with his character development. And Bob is the very image of stoic, but you get the feeling he is also happy.

These are all beautiful, the colours are so rich. I love Bob best of all. He's flushed, and so obviously fairer in complexion. And the armor peice made me snicker.
